Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the Insightnix website and its public dashboards. By using the Website, you agree to them.

Last updated: 12 Dec 2025 · Insightnix

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of Insightnix and are entered into with the legal operator identified in section 11 (“Insightnix”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

These Terms apply whenever you access or use insightnix.com, including its public dashboards, charts, articles, dataset pages, downloads, suggestion forms and related website content and features (together, the “Website”). By using the Website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using it.

If you use the Website for a company, institution or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to act for it. References to “you” include that organisation where appropriate.

Scope

These Terms govern the public Insightnix Website and its general functions. They do not by themselves govern a paid Data Services engagement, which is subject to the Data Services Terms and an accepted written Order.

Business and consumer users

The Website is intended principally for general informational use by adults acting in a professional, academic, organisational, journalistic, research, educational or personal capacity. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where mandatory consumer law applies, these Terms operate subject to that law.

Additional terms

Particular datasets, downloads, APIs, embedded services, promotions or other features may be subject to additional notices, licences or usage conditions. If there is a conflict, the more specific condition applies to the relevant material or feature.

2. Using the website

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable permission to access the Website and use its public features for lawful personal, educational, research, journalistic and internal business purposes.

You may share ordinary links to public dashboard pages and may quote or reproduce reasonable extracts or screenshots where you:

  • do not alter them in a misleading way;
  • credit Insightnix and the original source displayed on the dashboard;
  • retain any required copyright, licence, attribution and disclaimer notices; and
  • comply with the licence applying to the underlying dataset.

This permission does not transfer ownership, grant API access, authorise bulk extraction or permit republication of a substantial part of the Website. We may withdraw or restrict permission where use breaches these Terms or creates a legal, security or operational risk.

Reasonable use

Normal browser access, ordinary sharing of public page links and reasonable quotation with attribution are permitted, subject to source-specific rights. High-volume access, systematic extraction, repeated automated requests or use that imposes disproportionate load requires prior written permission unless applicable law clearly provides otherwise.

No account or continuity entitlement

Most public content can be viewed without an account. Access to a page at a particular time does not create a right to continued access, a particular format, a historical version, a stated update frequency or preservation of a feature.

Local requirements

You are responsible for ensuring that your use is lawful in your location and sector and that you obtain any licences, permissions, professional review or internal approvals required for your intended use.

3. Dashboards and content

Public dashboards may use data published by governments, statistical bodies, international organisations, research institutions and other third parties. The original publisher remains responsible for its source data, definitions, methodology, revisions and publication decisions.

Our public-data policy is to use datasets only where the published dataset-specific terms, public-domain statement or statutory reuse notice permit the intended commercial reuse. Public accessibility, a government domain name or a free download does not by itself establish reuse rights. We check the terms attached to the specific dataset and follow applicable attribution, change-notice, share-alike, database-right, API and disclaimer requirements.

Examples of licence families that may permit commercial reuse include the UK Open Government Licence, CC0, Creative Commons Attribution and Attribution-ShareAlike licences, and the Open Data Commons PDDL, ODC-By and ODbL licences. We assess the terms applying to each specific dataset and access route. We do not knowingly use for a commercial public dashboard data restricted to non-commercial, personal, academic, educational or research-only use, or data under a no-derivatives licence where the required processing would be an adaptation.

We may clean, standardise, join, aggregate, calculate, model or visualise data for presentation. These processes and their limitations are described in our Data Practices and, where appropriate, in dashboard-specific notes.

Informational nature and verification

Dashboards condense complex sources into visual and tabular formats. They may omit source notes, confidence intervals, methodological qualifications, suppressed values or contextual factors that are important to a particular decision. We use reasonable care but do not guarantee that Website content is complete, current, error-free, suitable for every purpose or identical to the latest source publication. Users should consult the cited publisher and methodology before relying on a value.

Updates and revisions

Source organisations may revise historical data, change definitions, delay releases or withdraw material. Dashboard values may therefore change without prior notice, including for past periods. An “updated” date indicates our relevant processing or publication date and does not necessarily mean that every underlying source was released on that date.

No professional advice

Website content is for general information and exploration. It is not legal, financial, investment, accounting, medical, engineering, safety, employment, immigration, tax, regulatory, policy or other professional advice. It is not a substitute for current primary evidence, expert judgement, risk assessment or sector-specific compliance.

No decision or outcome guarantee

We do not warrant that a dashboard will predict an outcome, identify every risk, produce a particular commercial benefit or be suitable for automated or high-impact decision-making. You remain responsible for interpretation, validation and decisions made using the information.

Machine-generated and forecast content

Where a dashboard includes modelled, forecast, machine-learning or automated output, it is an estimate based on assumptions and available data. Such output may be affected by drift, bias, missing information and model limitations and should be subject to appropriate human review.

4. Intellectual property

Our materials

Except for third-party material, Insightnix owns or licenses the Website software, layout, branding, original text, selection and arrangement of content, dashboard configuration, graphics, code and documentation. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

Underlying data and third-party material

Underlying datasets may be owned or licensed by governments, intergovernmental bodies, research institutions, businesses or other publishers. Third-party logos, names, software, maps, fonts and other materials remain the property of their respective owners and may be subject to separate terms. Source attribution does not transfer rights to us or to you.

A source licence may give you broader or narrower reuse rights than these Website Terms for the underlying data itself. You must comply with the relevant source licence when downloading, reproducing or redistributing data.

Source notices and separate rights

A dashboard or its supporting page may identify the source organisation, dataset, source location, licence, retrieval or release information, material transformations and relevant limitations. These references are intended to comply with source conditions and help users verify the original evidence. They do not imply endorsement by the publisher.

Different elements of a dashboard can be governed by different rights. An open-data licence applying to numerical data may not cover a logo, map, photograph, narrative report, software component or third-party indicator. Permission to reuse underlying data does not grant permission to copy the Insightnix brand, Website code, original commentary or compiled visual presentation.

Share-alike and attribution conditions

Some open licences permit commercial use only subject to conditions such as crediting the publisher, linking to the licence, indicating modifications or licensing a derivative database or adaptation on the same terms. You are responsible for understanding and complying with those conditions when you reuse source data or an output derived from it. Our display of an attribution does not grant you a separate licence beyond the rights provided by the relevant rights holder.

Permitted references

You may link to public Insightnix pages and make limited quotations or screenshots for commentary, teaching, research, journalism or internal reporting where lawful, proportionate, accurately attributed and not misleading. You must not remove source notices, imply endorsement or present an altered extract as an unmodified Insightnix output.

Prohibited exploitation

Except for the limited permission in section 2 or rights granted by an applicable source licence or law, you must not copy, reproduce, frame, republish, sell, sublicense, distribute or create a substitute service from a substantial part of the Website without prior written permission. You must not create a confusingly similar service using our protected presentation, resell our proprietary materials, remove rights-management information or use our branding in a way that suggests partnership, certification or approval.

Nothing in these Terms restricts lawful quotation, criticism, review, reporting, research or other use permitted by copyright law.

Rights notices

A rights holder who believes material has been used without authority should contact us with identification of the work, the affected page, the claimed right and supporting information. We will assess sufficiently detailed notices and may restrict access while a matter is reviewed.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use automated tools to scrape, crawl, harvest, mirror or bulk-download Website content without written permission, except normal indexing by a compliant public search engine;
  • circumvent rate limits, access controls, robots instructions, security measures or technical restrictions;
  • probe, scan, test or exploit vulnerabilities without prior written authorisation;
  • introduce malware, overload infrastructure, interfere with another user or disrupt the Website;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems, accounts, data, source code or administrative functions;
  • use the Website or its presentation to train or supply a commercial general-purpose model through bulk extraction without permission;
  • misrepresent a dashboard, remove context, fabricate an association with Insightnix or pass our original presentation off as your own;
  • use the Website unlawfully, fraudulently, abusively or in a way that infringes intellectual-property, privacy, confidentiality or other rights;
  • use the Website to discriminate unlawfully, harass, threaten, facilitate fraud or publish unlawful content; or
  • use information to attempt to identify a person from data presented as anonymous or aggregate.

Automated access

You must not use bots, scrapers, crawlers or automated agents in a manner that disregards technical controls, creates excessive load, extracts personal information, reproduces a substantial part of the service or breaches a source licence. Search-engine indexing and other expressly authorised automated access remain subject to published controls.

Misrepresentation

You must not alter a dashboard, label, scale or source statement in a way that materially misrepresents the original information, or suggest that Insightnix has verified, endorsed or sponsored your organisation, report or conclusion when it has not.

Enforcement

We may investigate suspected misuse, preserve relevant records, block requests, restrict access, remove submissions and report conduct to an affected provider or competent authority where appropriate and lawful.

Responsible security reporting

Responsible security reports may be sent to legal@insightnix.com. Do not access, copy, alter or retain more information than is reasonably necessary to describe a suspected issue, and do not publicly disclose a vulnerability before we have had a reasonable opportunity to assess and address it.

6. Suggestions and newsletter

Suggestions, corrections and enquiries

You may submit a dashboard suggestion, correction report, enquiry or other message where the Website provides a form. You must have the right to submit the material and must not include unlawful content, malware, another person’s confidential information, trade secrets or unnecessary sensitive personal information.

Unless we expressly agree to confidentiality, a suggestion is not confidential. Submitting a suggestion does not require us to build it, publish it, respond, credit you, pay you or grant you rights in a later dashboard.

Your rights and permissions

You retain ownership of your original submission. You grant us a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to review, store, adapt and use the non-personal ideas and content in the submission for evaluating, developing, operating and improving Insightnix, subject to our Privacy Policy.

You confirm that a submission is accurate to the best of your knowledge, lawful, relevant and does not infringe another person’s rights.

Moderation and correction reports

We may reject, edit, anonymise, retain or delete a submission where it is irrelevant, abusive, unlawful, duplicative, technically unsafe or inconsistent with our editorial or data standards. Correction reports are assessed in good faith but do not guarantee a change. We may contact you for clarification using the details supplied.

Newsletter

Newsletter subscription is optional. Delivery is not guaranteed and messages may be delayed or filtered by email providers. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in an email or by contacting us. Administrative messages relating to an enquiry or active service are separate from the optional newsletter.

7. Data Services

Data Services is our business offering for managed dashboards, reporting, data preparation, integrations, forecasting, migration and support.

Enquiries are non-binding

Website descriptions, plans, selected configurations, indicative build periods, enquiry acknowledgements and preliminary discussions are invitations to enquire only. They do not themselves create a paid engagement, calculate or agree a price, or require either party to proceed.

After reviewing the enquiry and any necessary scoping information, we may issue a tailored quotation, proposal, statement of work or other written Order. A binding paid engagement arises only when an Order is accepted in accordance with the Data Services Terms.

Separate contractual documents

The accepted Order identifies the particular services, outputs, fees, timetable, assumptions and client responsibilities. If these Website Terms conflict with the Data Services Terms or accepted Order concerning paid services, the service-specific contractual documents take priority for that engagement.

No procurement representation

General statements about technologies, data handling, delivery periods or support describe our service approach. They are not a representation that a particular certification, insurance level, security standard, supplier approval or service commitment applies unless confirmed in the Order or supporting evidence.

8. Availability

The Website is provided on an “as available” basis. We may add, modify, correct, archive, reclassify, suspend, restrict, replace or withdraw a dashboard, feature, download or the Website as a whole without guaranteeing continuous availability.

Maintenance and interruption

Access may be interrupted by maintenance, faults, hosting issues, network conditions, cyber incidents, provider changes, source withdrawal, legal requirements, emergency work or events outside our reasonable control. We do not guarantee that the Website will always be secure, free from malware or compatible with every browser or device, although we take reasonable precautions.

External sources and links

Links to source publications, platforms and other websites are provided for context and convenience. We do not control or endorse independent third-party content, availability, security, accuracy, accessibility, privacy practices or terms. A link does not imply endorsement.

Downloads

You are responsible for checking downloaded files, maintaining suitable device security and browser updates, and keeping any backups you require. File formats, schemas and endpoints may change. Unless expressly stated, we do not promise backward compatibility or technical support for public downloads.

Changes to content

Where feasible, material corrections to a dashboard may be noted under our Data Practices, but not every editorial, formatting or presentation change will be recorded.

9. Liability

Liability that cannot be excluded

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Business users

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for loss arising from reliance on Website content, source-data error, unavailable content, external links, security events outside our reasonable control, use contrary to these Terms, or actions taken by a source publisher after our relevant retrieval date.

For business users, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss or for loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, anticipated savings, goodwill, opportunity, data or business interruption arising from general Website use, except to the extent that such exclusion is not enforceable.

Because the public Website is supplied without charge, our aggregate liability to a business user arising from general Website use is limited to £100.

Consumers

Nothing in these Terms affects mandatory consumer rights. We are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our failure to use reasonable care or breach of these Terms, but not for business loss, loss that was not foreseeable, or loss that could reasonably have been avoided by following instructions, checking the cited primary source or installing an offered update.

User systems and decisions

We are not responsible for failures in your device, browser, internet connection, security controls or independent third-party systems. You remain responsible for verifying information and for the decisions, publications and representations you make using Website content.

10. Changes and governing law

Suspension and termination of access

We may suspend, block or permanently restrict access where we reasonably believe a user has breached these Terms, threatened security, infringed rights, created excessive load, used the Website unlawfully or exposed us or another person to legal or operational risk. Where practicable, restrictions will be targeted to the relevant conduct or technical source.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Website, law, security requirements, operations or business practices. The date shown at the top identifies the current version. Material changes apply prospectively. Continued use after publication means that the current Terms apply to later use, but does not retrospectively alter a separately accepted Data Services Order.

Severability and waiver

If a provision is unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary or removed, and the remaining provisions will continue. Failure or delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of that right.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and non-contractual disputes are governed by the laws of England and Wales. For business users, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. A consumer may also rely on mandatory laws and bring proceedings in the courts available under applicable consumer law in the part of the United Kingdom or country where they live.
